Haitian Heritage Month!

This month is Haitian Heritage and I am so ready to share what I know with you about my culture.  Now, this month is about the history of  Haiti and a celebration of Haitian roots that have always been a popular topic to discuss in the Black community. So here are some key things to know if you want to participate in celebration of my love for Haiti.

First, let's celebrate for the revolution that was January 1st and Haitian Flag day on May 18th. Haitian Heritage month is not only about the revolution that led to our freedom from slavery under the French people or about just the creation of the national flag. To be honest, its about the food, the music, the culture, the history, the people, their future.

Haiti is a beautiful country. Filled with people who are hardworking, spiritual, and strong. Made with green pastures that have natural food and soulful music that makes the island dances with its waist. I only went to Haiti once and people think I am from the country. And this is what I know that to celebrate Haitian Heritage Month is to always see the beauty in the effort Haiti makes to always be beautiful.
